The standard
What we measure ourselves against.
This site makes available an accessibility widget powered by a dedicated accessibility server. The software allows ridgelinecu.com to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
| What | How | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Accessibility widget | A menu of display and navigation adjustments you can turn on yourself | On every page |
| Automated scanning | We scan ridgelinecu.com with an automated accessibility scanner to identify and fix accessibility barriers | Regularly |
| Member reports | Anything you tell us about a page that did not work for you | Reviewed when we receive it |
Scroll sideways to see every column on a small screen.
Conformance is a direction, not a finish line. A site this size always has something to fix, and we would rather say so than claim otherwise.
On this site
What we build toward.
These are the standards we hold the site to. If any of them fails for you, we want to hear about it.
Navigation by keyboard
You should be able to tab through any page, including menus and forms, with focus visible as you go. If your keyboard gets stuck somewhere, tell us where.
Contrast you can read
We aim for text contrast that meets WCAG 2.1 level AA, and we try not to use color alone to carry meaning.
Alt text on images
Images carry alt text written by a person who knows why the image is there. Decorative shapes are hidden from screen readers rather than read aloud as filenames.
Labeled forms and clear errors
Fields carry a visible label tied to them, required fields say so in words, and an error should tell you what to fix rather than just turning red.
Text that resizes
Zoom to 200% or increase your browser’s font size and the layout should reflow instead of breaking.
The accessibility menu
The ridgelinecu.com accessibility menu can be enabled by clicking the accessibility menu icon that appears on the corner of the page. After triggering the accessibility menu, please wait a moment for it to load in its entirety.
Honest list
Where the site may still fall short.
Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on ridgelinecu.com fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.
| Where | The problem | What to do meanwhile | Target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Older PDF documents | Some documents may be scanned images, which a screen reader cannot read | Call us and we will read it to you or send another version | Under review |
| Online banking | The platform is built by our provider, and parts of it may not meet WCAG 2.1 level AA | Any transaction can be completed by phone or at our office | With the vendor |
| Rate tables on small screens | Wide tables scroll sideways, which is awkward with a screen magnifier | Call us and we will read you any rate | Under review |
Scroll sideways to see every column on a small screen.
About third-party tools. Some parts of this site come from other companies, including online banking and the card controls app. We raise defects with those vendors, but we do not control their code. Where a vendor tool blocks you, call us and a person will complete the task with you.

What happens after you send it. Someone here reads it and gets back to you with what we found and what we are doing about it. If the fix is going to take a while, we will tell you how to get the task done in the meantime.
